Mommy & Music Cross Gates Thursday, 10AM
What is Mommy & Music?… Mommy & Music is a music program that includes instrument play, sing-a-long, & creative movement. Exploration on sand blocks, claves, gathering drums, rhythm instruments, scarves, puppets, & more help keep your little one stay engaged and involved in this musical learning.
These activities will help strengthen your child's love for music and love for mommy.
When: Offered on Thursdays at 10AM. Each session includes nine, 45-minute themed classes held weekly over nine weeks for ages 9 months - 4 years.
Cost: $80 per session, 8 classes in a session, with 1 make-up class, totaling 9 classes.> Monthly theme examples include but not limited to: Under the Sea, Music in My Day, Zoo-riffic, Transportation, A Day on the Farm, Itsy Bitsy Insects
Meet your teacher: My name is Tiffanie Cooper Hingle. I am the creator of Mommy & Music. As a mother and a strong believer in the benefits of music, I wanted to create a music program with high quality yet low price. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy. I received the Outstanding Student Award from the American Music Therapy Association. After college, I worked at Southeast LA Hospital as a Music Therapist. Following that, I taught Kindermusik in Slidell. Now, I work at home with my little one and teach your child Mommy & Music. How do I register for Mommy & Music classes? Registration forms are available at the Youth Services desk at Cross Gates. For further information call Tiffanie Hingle 985-718-9021 or email tiffaniemt@yahoo.com.
Why Music?… Research says it all. Music aids in the development of early literacy and language skills, math & science skills, increases attention span, creates bonding, and develops fine & gross motor skills. But you won't notice all the learning going on because you'll be having too much FUN! Your instructor will point out how each activity contributes to your child's developmental growth.
