Dion Grossnickle - General Manager
Originally from Metairie, Louisiana, Dion is a graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School and has a BA from Southeastern Louisiana University in Kinisiology with an emphasis in Sports Management and a double minor in Marketing and Management. Dion strives to provide the Slidell area with not only a first class facility, but more so to give each member top quality service. "I want to be sure that when people walk into the doors of Cross Gates Athletic Club, not only do they feel comfortable, but they feel special."

Stephanie Howell - Program and Fitness Director
Stephanie has a BS Degree in Marketing from Louisiana Tech University. She has worked at Cross Gates since 1999 and really enjoys interacting with people who are making lifestyle changes, one workout at a time. She loves being a part of helping our members become healthier and stronger. Steph works as the Fitness and Group Fitness Director along with her role as the Program Director, which involves sports, aquatic, and senior programming, along with customer service and member retention.

Greg Johnson - Marketing Director
Greg has a Master’s Degree in English with a Concentration in Professional and Technical writing. As marketing director for Cross Gates Family fitness, he is responsible for creating all internal and external marketing for the club. Greg develops our marketing strategies, promotional materials and website management.
Greg started working with Cross Gates Family Fitness in 1997. His career began in the Youth Activity Center where he has developed many children’s programs including Slidell’s finest Summer Camp. Greg is still actively involved in managing the club’s youth programs.
In addition to Marketing and assisting the Youth Activity Center, Greg is also a group fitness instructor at the club. He teaches Body Pump, Spinning and Group Training programs.

Joey Sanders - Pontchartrain Club Manager
With his passion for health and fitness, Joey obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health Studies from Southeastern Louisiana University. He started his career with Cross Gates is 2002 and has since been committed to providing every member and guest with the best possible experience each and every time they visit the club. Joey is dedicated to creating an inviting atmosphere and helping members of all ages achieve their health and fitness goals.

Lana Walgamotte - Program Manager
Lana earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Southeastern Louisiana University. She graduated in 2002 and has been with this company since that day. Her main objective is to create an uplifting and motivating environment for our members. She is involved in building teams, organizing, managing, and helping where necessary.

Kim Underwood - Body Motion Manager and Senior Coordinator
Kim Underwood comes to Cross Gates from San Diego, California. Kim graduated from Menlo College with a degree in Business Administration while still working on her Masters/Teaching Credential in Health. “Health and Fitness at Any Age” is Kim's philosophy. As Body Motion Manager, Kim is passionate about helping members get that “jump start” into a fitness program promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. Encouragement, commitment, and having fun is what Body Motion is all about! Hard Work Pays Off!

Jodie Graham - Business Office Manager
Jodie Graham started at the Front Desk in 1998. During her time working at the Front Desk, she learned how to create a great atmosphere for our members and our employees. Because of Jodie’s success, she was named Customer Service Provider of 2004 was promoted to Manager on Duty. In this position, Jodie implemented a new employee customer service training, which allowed her to spend her days training our staff to be their best. By 2006 Jodie had worked her way up to Business Office Manager where she was awarded Manager of the Year. In this position Jodie spends her days taking care of our members.

Matt Mares - Controller
Matt graduated from Tulane University in 1996 with a degree in Accounting and joined the Cross Gates management team in 2007. He hasn't told us what he did in the years between there, but Matt was quickly named "Rookie of the Year" at the Club for his good attitude, attention to detail, and ability to multiply large numbers in his head. He is in charge of keeping all the company numbers straight; a very big job, yet he never seems stressed out. It must be the golf and listening to unconventional rap music that helps with this.

Patty Beckham - Youth Program Manager
Patty began working in the Youth Activity Center in 2000. In 2005, Cross Gates recognized her as the Youth Activity Center Employee of the Year. She received her Secondary English Education degree from the University of New Orleans in December of 2005. Realizing her love for children, Patty became the Youth Programming Manager at Cross Gates Athletic Club, where she works to create and manage our Youth Programs. Her goal is to always be sure our youth programs are exceeding the expectations of our members. Patty would love to talk to you if you have any comments or suggestions regarding the following programs: Afternoon Academy , Baby Signs, Cheering, Cub Camp, Dancing, Helping Hands, Home School PE , Parents’ Night Out, Seasonal Camps, Signature Camps, Summer Camp, Tumbling and Tutoring.

Tammy Phillips - Child Care Manager
Tammy's dream since she was a little girl has been to work with children and she has spent most of the last eighteen years doing just that. She is a mother of six children, has operated a childcare out of her home and worked as a preschool teacher for five years before starting at Cross Gates. Tammy loves working at Cross Gates because she has the opportunity of getting to know both the children and their parents. She loves to see the children that used to have a hard time leaving their parents, come into Cross Gates with a smile on their face and just have fun.

Debbie McClelland - Pro Shop Manager
Debbie manages the Pro Shop, which provides all types of athletic apparel and accessories. She enjoys making the most current trends available. It is her goal to meet the individual needs of the members.

Billy Snyder - Facility Manager
Billy comes to us from Ohio, where he attended Ohio University. What started out as journey to help people recover from Katrina ended up in a permanent residence here in Slidell. Billy is our facility manager and his responsibilities include the interior and exterior of our club—just to name a few! Billy enjoys creating an atmosphere where people can come and “get away” and enjoy visit here at Cross Gates.

Robert Faust - Food and Beverage Manager
A born and raised New Orleanian, Robert has worked in the Restaurant industry for the last 15 years. His culinary career began at McAlister's Deli while attending the University of Mississippi. After working at McAlister's throughout college, Robert decided to take his career further and enrolled at the Art Institute of Atlanta's School of Culinary Arts. After school Robert moved back to New Orleans to get married and re-unite with McAlister's to manage the opening of the local franchise. After managing at McAlister's for 7 years and helping open 5 locations, Robert decided to get into the fine dining scene in New Orleans and worked as Sous Chef at the world famous Galatoire's. After working and learning at Galatoire's as the number two man in charge, he moved to The Savvy Gourmet, a New Orleans based catering company/cooking school, where he was the Executive Chef. He now comes to Cross Gates and brings his extensive culinary knowledge to Steele Street Café. Robert will combine both his fine dining knowledge with his deli experience to make Steele Street Café a first class restaurant that all of us at Cross Gates can take extreme pride in.

Christy Murphy - Special Events Coordinator
Christy has worked with Cross Gates Family Fitness since 1995 in the Marketing and Sales department. Christy is responsible for coordinating all special events such as Annual Anniversary Galas, Health & Fitness Expos, Pool Parties, Chamber of Commerce functions, and all referral promotions. Christy enjoys interacting with the members, staff, and media. She is committed to making sure all members feel welcome at Cross Gates!!

Cindia Jumper - Front Desk Manager
Cindia graduated from the University of Tennessee with a major in Marketing. She moved to Slidell in May 2003 and soon became a member of Cross Gates. She began working part-time at the Front Desk in August 2007 and was named Customer Service Provider of the year in 2008. While working at Cross Gates, she was also working at the Early Learning Center and decided in May 2009 to make Cross Gates her full time job.
Cindia loves being around people and enjoys everyone who walks through the door. As Front Desk Manager, her goal is to create a positive experience for each member and guest.
